Ink For Me ...

I'm thinking about some new ink. All right, not thinking about it, but planning on it.

Next Tuesday, January 3, 2017, I'm going to an Austin tattoo shop to get my second tattoo done. It's going to be a Miyazaki tat from one of my favorite film's by him, "Spirited Away."

It will be of Chihiro and Haku together, similar to the image above, but stylized more like the anime and not so chibi. I'm hoping it comes out looking great. The placement, by the way, is most likely going to be on my upper right arm. The tattoo artist I selected to do it just so happens to love anime and Miyazaki like I do. I'm super excited about getting this done. So I'm hoping she will do the tattoo justice.

I'm also planning on getting a smaller third tattoo done on the inside of my wrist. I want to get an infinity loop with my boys' names woven in it, similar to the image below.

I've been meaning to find something meaningful to show my love for my boys, and I think this tattoo comes closest to it.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to my tattooing session next Tuesday evening. I'll definitely post pics when I'm done.

Temperamental Haikus

Going Under

Dark waters rising,

Faster than I can process,

Grabbing a life line.

Mental Forest

Lost in foggy wood,

Searching hard for my North Star,

Spinning in circles.

Head Music

Waltzing to music,

Swaying to strange cryptic beats,

'Round and 'round I go.

Stuck

There's nowhere to go.

Standing still like a statue,

Birds make you their home.

Tunnel Vision

Fleeing the shadows,

Asking for a break and

Instead receiving none;

Luck is not on our side

Under any circumstance;

Remove the cloth from your eyes and

Evoke the spirits from within for guidance.

Is time against us?

Should I try to stand up again?

Nothingness wants to envelop me, yet

Out of the darkness I hear wings fluttering,

Trying to break free of the brewing bitter storm.

Again, I ask, do I try to stand up?

Now or never to face the uncertainty before me.

Odd thoughts permeate my mind,

Perhaps they are old friends come to visit?

Tap, tap, tapping on my mind's back door seeking an

Invitation to come join a party not yet started;

Or maybe to shake loose fear and doubt lurking

Near the surface waiting to be banished by light.
